چکیده

Introduction: A Direct Simulation Monte Carlo (DSMC) solver with a modified collisional routine is used to investigate an argon gas flow through millimeter-scaled thruster nozzle high-density ratios. Method: The limiter scheme, denoted as the constant selection (CSL), limits possible number of selected pairs value in accordance present simulation particles cell. Results: Results CSL scheme are compared experimental and numerical results compressible Navier–Stokes discussed comparison baseline DSMC simulations. influence collision limitation by on stagnation pressure thrust specific impulse prediction. application makes prediction challenging some cases. Discussion: In contrast, predicted well, their study remains valid. Investigated mass rates 0.178 mg/s ≤ m . 71.360 mg/s, Knudsen numbers below Kn = 0.01 over 10 present. Near atmospheric conditions reached inside thruster, generating ratios up 3,741 along nozzle. computational performance also discussed, speed-up factors 0.51 achieved.

Simulation of Micro-Channel and Micro-Orifice Flow Using Lattice Boltzmann Method with Langmuir Slip Model

Because of its kinetic nature and computational advantages, the Lattice Boltzmann method (LBM) has been well accepted as a useful tool to simulate micro-scale flows. The slip boundary model plays a crucial role in the accuracy of solutions for micro-channel flow simulations. The most used slip boundary condition is the Maxwell slip model. The results of Maxwell slip model are affected by the ac...

Direct Numerical Simulation of A Forced Micro Couette Flow using DSMC

The direct simulation Monte Carlo (DSMC) method is used in a time-dependent manner to simulate threedimensional micro Couette flows. An artificial forcing that mimics the centrifugal force in the Taylor problem has been applied to the flow. The sampled behaviors of the resulting flow, including the averaged properties and disturbances, are studied. The computations have been performed using a p...
